Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your journey begins with a picturesque drive north from Nairobi, gradually transitioning from
the bustling city into the dramatic, semi-arid scenery of Samburu. On arrival at your lodge or
tented camp, you will check in, enjoy lunch, and take some time to unwind before setting out
for your first afternoon game drive. Samburu is celebrated for its rare and distinctive wildlife, including species not commonly found in other parks, such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe,
and the unique gerenuk with its elongated neck.
The next day is fully dedicated to discovering this remarkable wilderness. Morning and
afternoon game drives take you through riverine woodlands and expansive open plains along
the Ewaso Nyiro River, where you may spot elephants, lions, and a wide variety of bird species.
The peaceful, less crowded setting of Samburu creates an intimate and truly authentic safari
experience.
After breakfast, you will set off for the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch
at your lodge. This private reserve is widely recognized as one of Kenya’s top conservation areas
and hosts the highest population of black rhinos in East Africa.

In the afternoon, you will explore both the Rhino Sanctuary and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the
only place in Kenya where rescued chimpanzees can be seen. A key highlight of your visit is the
opportunity to learn about—and possibly observe—Najin and Fatu, the world’s last two
northern white rhinos, who are carefully protected under constant supervision. Later, enjoy an
evening game drive across the conservancy’s scenic plains, where sightings of lions, elephants,
buffalo, and many other wildlife species are common.
Today’s journey leads you further into the spectacular Great Rift Valley, one of Africa’s most
striking natural formations. En route, you will pause at the beautiful Thomson’s Falls, where
water cascades dramatically into a green, forested gorge below—offering a perfect opportunity
to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take photos. The drive continues through ever-changing
landscapes, from rolling highlands to wide valley floors scattered with farms, rural settlements,
and distant escarpments.

You will arrive at your lodge near Lake Nakuru in time for lunch, followed by some time to
unwind before an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Though relatively small,
the park is rich in wildlife and especially famous for its successful rhino conservation. Duringyour drive, you may spot both white and black rhinos, lions resting among the acacia trees, and
Rothschild’s giraffes moving across the open plains.
Leaving Lake Nakuru behind, you will head toward the famous Masai Mara National Reserve,
enjoying a scenic drive that gradually unfolds into endless golden plains. Upon arrival at your
lodge or camp in time for lunch, you will check in and soak in the wide savannah views before
embarking on your first afternoon game drive. This introductory safari often offers a glimpse of
what awaits—elephants moving across the open grasslands, lions resting beneath acacia trees,
and, on occasion, a cheetah surveying the horizon.
The next day is fully devoted to discovering the incredible wildlife of the Masai Mara. You may
opt for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, giving you the chance to explore deeper
sections of the reserve in search of diverse animal sightings. During peak season, you might
witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, where vast herds move across the plains in search of
fresh grazing.
After breakfast, you will set off on your return drive to Nairobi, taking time to reflect on the
remarkable wildlife encounters and breathtaking scenery experienced during your safari. On
arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport, bringing your memorable Kenyan
adventure to a close.
