Day-by-Day Itinerary
one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations where animals still roam freely
across vast, untouched landscapes in impressive numbers. As part of the greater
Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is especially famous for the annual migration of
wildebeest and zebras, followed closely by predators in search of prey.
Arrive at your camp or lodge in time for lunch and some rest before heading out for an
afternoon game drive. This first exploration of the reserve offers excellent opportunities
to spot a wide variety of wildlife while enjoying the sweeping savannah scenery that
makes the Maasai Mara so iconic.

Exceeded all expectations
We've done safaris in South Africa and Botswana before, but our tailor-made trip with Malia Trails was in a different league. The attention to detail was remarkable. We specifically requested fewer tourists and more authentic experiences, and they delivered. Our itinerary included some lesser-known conservancies where we were often the only vehicle at a sighting. The guides were not just drivers – they were naturalists, storytellers, and conservationists. The accommodations were handpicked to match our style – eco-luxury with a focus on sustainability. We loved that many of the camps supported local communities and conservation projects. One particularly memorable moment: our guide arranged for us to have breakfast with researchers at a cheetah conservation center. Fascinating and humbling. Worth every penny. We'll be back!
